Based on exactly whose artistic viewpoint? Why do you think that the
dock is an example of bad use of 3D?
I dare to strongly disagree, in my opinion, the dock is brilliant and
beautiful on Leopard
(I know because I am using Leopard everyday (in addition to Linux), I
have not just looked at the screenshots).
I think this is highly matter of taste and some are more sensitive to
things that
stand out of the box and others prefer more conservative designs. The
new dock on OSX makes
my Ubuntu machine look dull, but that is another IMHO, some seem to
even like the (IMHO dull) look of Windows(R). But I am sure my father
(and his generation)
would disagree if he would be still alive.
