    Thanks a millions. That should do exactly what i need.
Unfortunately! i can't readily test it out so if it works for you,
then just commit it with whatever cleanup you need to do.

   Hmm.. '_hash_table' and '_htable' is the only ones that come to
mind. :( The former looks good and is descriptive but makes the
complete names of the functions too big. '_htable' is more descriptive
than '_hash' at least but still not very clear and doesn't look nice.
