[poky] Pointing {CVS,SRC}_TARBALL_STASH at a local directory

Doing something like the following in poky.conf:

  CVS_TARBALL_STASH += "file:///sources/"

doesn't work. The 'fetch' phase will fail after consulting the
official download site for the package's sources and any HTTP-flavored
entries in CVS_TARBALL_STASH (e.g.,
"http://www.o-hand.com/~richard/sources/"). It's almost as though
entries using a file:// URI scheme as silently ignored.

Is there a way to point at a local directory with sources primed?
